Monsters with 11 affixes, a clearer Bounty Board, and cloud backups of your progress

Some monsters in the open world now come with affixes — eleven of them, from Armored and Vampire to Thorny, Venomous and a Lucky one that pays triple gold — and pay more XP and gold for the trouble. The Bounty Board was redesigned to tell you straight away what to do next, and gets three weekly contracts that pay seals and a chest every 7 days of streak. The rest of the week was about keeping your progress safe: the game now keeps up to 8 backups of your progress in the cloud, which you can restore from the Account tab, and a tab that falls behind while the game is open somewhere else stops saving altogether, instead of being able to bring back an old save.

Three new affixes

What was wrongEight affixes covered tougher and faster monsters, but none of them punished hitting hard, poisoned you or simply paid more.

  • Three new affixes on open-world monsters: 🌵 Thorny, ☠ Venomous and 🍀 Lucky — 11 in total now, each with its own glow on the nameplate.
  • The Thorny one reflects 10% of the damage you deal it, but never takes you below 20% HP. Your own thorns, your riposte and damage from effects like poison are not reflected.
  • The Venomous one only shows up from combat level 10: each of its hits has a 30% chance to poison you for 6 turns, once per fight at most. On a monster that already has a poison skill, the affix does not replace its poison.
  • The Lucky one pays ×3 gold and ×1.5 XP.
  • Thorny and Explosive never appear together.

A clearer Bounty Board

What was wrongThe board had grown piece by piece — contracts, weeklies, chests, streak, rank, multipliers — and showed all of it at once, without saying what to do next.

  • A box at the top tells you what to do now: the next contract to finish or, when something is ready, a button that claims it — one item at a time.
  • Today’s contracts sit in simple rows, and This week and the Streak are side by side. The week section opens on its own when there is something ready to claim.
  • The streak ladder is now a table, under Show full ladder, and a How does it work? section lists the rules.
  • Seals now only means the seals you have to spend — your Rank shows points. The streak’s seal multiplier is explained in a single line.
  • On phones, the text is bigger and the buttons are easier to tap.
  • Everything that was there is still there: nothing changed in the rewards, the swaps or the rules.
  • The Bounty ready! sign in town and in the menu stayed lit after midnight (or after Monday) for yesterday’s contracts. It now only lights up when there really is something to claim.

Monsters with affixes

What was wrongA monster of a given kind was always the same fight: once you knew it, there was nothing left to find out.

  • From combat level 5, some open-world monsters show up with affixes: 🛡 Armored, ❤ Giant, ⚡ Swift, 🎯 Fierce, 💨 Evasive, 🧛 Vampire, ♻ Regenerating and 💥 Explosive.
  • You only find out when the fight starts: the affix shows on the monster’s nameplate, with its own glow.
  • They pay more: ×1.5 XP and gold with one affix, ×2 with two.
  • They are rare — an 8% to 15% chance, depending on your level — and never appear on bosses, in the Tower, in raids, in the arena or on the central map. Minibosses get one at most.
  • The Explosive one never kills you or takes you below 20% HP, the Regenerating one recovers at most 30% of its max HP per fight, and the Vampire heals from the damage it deals you.
  • The hidden tab (combat in the background) ignores affixes.
  • With a weapon equipped, a Tower victory showed more XP than you actually got. It now shows the right number — the XP you earned does not change.

Weekly contracts and a streak chest

What was wrongThe Bounty Board only thought in days: three contracts, a streak, and nothing that asked for a longer effort or marked a long streak.

  • Three weekly contracts in their own section of the Bounty Board, with the time left until they reset on Monday. They ask for bigger targets than the daily ones and cannot be swapped, but they pay seals — 50, 50 and 70 — and claiming all three opens a Weekly Chest with 80 more.
  • Anything you have not claimed is lost when the week turns over.
  • Every 7 days of streak (7, 14, 21…) there is a Streak Chest to open on the board, with 50 seals, gold and energy. The streak calendar shows when the next one is due.
  • If you already have a long streak, a welcome chest is waiting for you.
  • Moving your computer’s date backwards no longer gives you new boards or streak days — the game stays on the latest day it has seen.

Cloud backups you can restore

What was wrongIf something went wrong with your save, there was no way back to an earlier point unless you had exported a backup file yourself.

  • A new "Cloud backups" section in the Account tab. The game keeps up to 8 copies of your progress on its own — every so often while you play, and whenever your progress seems to go backwards.
  • Restoring keeps your current progress first, as one more backup, so you can change your mind. The game then reloads, and any other tabs or devices you have open fall behind and ask you to reload.
  • You can only restore backups that are more than 1 hour old, at most twice a day, with 5 minutes between restores — so undoing a restore is only possible after 1 hour.
  • Seals given to you by the staff after a backup was made are delivered again when you restore it, so you do not lose them.

A tab that falls behind now says so

What was wrongA tab left open somewhere could keep writing an old copy of your character into the browser. Reload in the wrong place and that copy came back instead of the progress you had made elsewhere.

  • The behind tab stops saving completely — not to the cloud, and not on this device either.
  • A banner stays at the top of the screen with a Reload button, so you pick up from your most recent save instead of playing on in a tab that keeps nothing.
  • Hiding or closing the tab no longer shows that warning by mistake.
  • A cloud save stuck on a slow connection gives up after 15 seconds instead of holding up the saves that come after it.
